Works for me!
This toaster is so much lighter than my old Black and Decker that I worried it would have flimsy performance as well. Surprisingly, it toasts nicely and both sides of the bread turn out fairly even. For basic white bread, the setting between 2 and 3 is ideal (I don't like my toast very dark). I have noticed that small slices such as Pepperidge Farm cinnamon bread sit a little far down in the toaster and some people might prefer to use tongs to take them out. I don't mind reaching in and grabbing them though. I rarely have bagels so this is something I haven't tried yet. It's nice having the cancel button so you don't have to force the lever up to stop toasting. On its own, this pops up the toast very gently. My old toaster occasionally would launch the bread all the way out onto the counter, which was certainly humorous but not exactly desirable! A TOASTER THAT FINALLY MAKES GREAT TOAST!!!
We have been frustrated with toasters in the past because they do not toast evenly on both sides and they are slow. We had a Proctor Silex toaster that we were happy with but it the up/down lever quit working. We got this lovely Chefman one from Amazon because of the good reviews it had and have been very satisfied with it thus far. It toasts evenly on both sides and quickly. We like the bagel button that allows you to not toast on one side when needed and we also appreciate the cancel button that avoids wear and tear on the up/down button.
