Black & Decker BL2010WP 10-Speed Blender with Plastic Jar

Simple, cheap - Not built to last
I recently bought this product hoping to get a nice rugged mixer, but that was not to be. For starters, if you fill the bowl the blender takes forever to suck in food on the top.

More importantly however, the blender cannot blend for longer time periods (more than 2 minutes) as specified in the manual. The electronics are all encased in silicone, which means there is no chance for heat to escape easily. Thus if you blend for a longer time, the mixer will call it a day.

Use it for short runs and quick mixing requirements.. but not much more.

Garbage
I only owned this product for a week. This worked one time. The first time I used this, I blended some fruit.. Seemed to work ok. The second time, I tried to make ice cream shakes. Just put in ice cream and some milk and tried to blend. The unit was not strong enough to mix. After a minute of me stirring it, then blending, then trying to stir again, it started to smoke and smell. It then never worked again and I returned it. Also note: while cleaning it after the second use, i noticed the screw that holds the blade was already rusted. In my opinion, Black and Decker rarely has quality products.
