For nostalgia purposes only....
I had such fond memories of this toy. I remember my Mom using ours on our front porch. My friends and I were all lined up with dixie cups and we all got a Snoopy sno-cone dessert. My Mom used it a few times after that, and then I never saw it again. I now know why!!!!
As a parent, you find out why your parents said "no" when you asked for things, etc. This Snoopy sno-cone maker was one of those things you need to experience yourself to find out why your parents always said "not now, maybe later".
I will say this, this definitely looks like the sno-cone maker we had. The plastic isn't as thick as the original, but everything looks the same. It's all there, the mini shovel, the Peanuts characters awaiting the shaved ice to come out..... well...
I was so excited when I found this today, I bought it for myself really. My daughter didn't seem excited until she figured out what it was all about. But boy oh boy, what hard work!!! It takes a lot of...
Do yourself a favor, Buy a blender
After 15 minutes of knuckle-busting fun trying to shave ice faster than it melts; you realize you not only have shaved ice but the added bonus of shredded red plastic mixed right in! (Wonder if that is for flavor or texture?)
Luckily, we noticed it before the kids ate it.
Buy a blender and put some Snoopy stickers on it and have fun enjoying a real sno-cone with the kids.
Not as great as I remembered
I agree with the reveiw that says this toy is for nostalgia purposes only. This is the Snoopy snow cone maker we had as kids ourselves, so it's fun to see our kids now playing with it. BUT, it's really difficult to use - you need major muscle power to grind the ice into "snow." The plastic this toy is made of is super thin, so you constantly feel like the thing is going to break, especially given all the pressure you have to exert to get the snow to come out. Overall, this toy was fun to use once, but I doubt we'll be pulling it out of the closet too often.
