Great product.
I have had this product for 4 months now and I absolutely love it. I have made chicken breast, salmon, snapper, shrimps, steak and other things using this machine and although I was very skeptical at first I am proud to say that it actually works. The food is cooked and very tasty but best of all it is finished cooking quickly. Although the included cook book varies in cooking time, I find I always have to add a minute or two extra, for certain food, but other times I can minus a minute also. For example fresh chicken is recommended as cooking time 3 minutes, however I cook mine for at least 4 minutes, and frozen burger meat is recommended at 7 minutes however I cook it for 6 minutes and it is well done. So it all depends on your microwave and you using your judgement.
Although I think the world of this product, I do have some negatives to add also. Firstly, the size. This product can hold two burger meats at a time and for other foods, e.g., chicken breast and steak I...
A slam dunk for your kitchen
If you are a single, or a couple - this is your next appliance. Buy it now. It's amazing. As long as you don't use any metal with it whatsoever - you're fine. It cooks better than I do with a skillet and conventional oven. Sure it's small, but for the convenience, I'll take it. It actually cooks food faster than a microwave does on its own - and much much better. It also cooks bread and dough like an oven does! It will blow your mind to see well-cooked pizza from scratch come out of your microwave, but you will.
Two tips for using this for larger portions:
1) get two grills, prep the second one while the first cooks, and make one after the other
2) stack meat filets twice, cook for 4 minutes, and flip BOTH pieces over so the uncooked gets some grill side love. You'll make twice as much food with only a teensy bit of time added.
3) Wanna laugh? Make meatloaf with this and watch what happens. (make sure it's not too runny though, for best...
6 years in--and I still LOVE it.
Yep--I've had mine for 6 (or more?) years, I use it several times a week, and I absolutely love it. OK--I'm single, and live alone, so keep in mind it's just for one person. But I've found that it's so quick and easy for so many things--hamburgers, vegetables, sausage, steaks, etc. And usually I can put them in either thawed or frozen and adjust accordingly. What I've learned--basically, I preheat the grill for 2 minutes for just about everything, then I tend to cook for shorter time periods--that is, I err on the side of shorter rather than longer times. For instance, a typical thawed hamburger is fine after about 1:30 minutes. My microwavew is 1260W on highest power, so it's a pretty high powered one. The key, I think, is to let it remain in the microwave after the cooking time is done for a good period of time (like, up to ten minutes); it'll still be hot, but cooked through. I really hope this product never goes off the market, because someday I'll need to get another one.
