Good looking unit that works as advertised
We had one of these previously that was working fine but after a power drop/surge, the cold did not work any more. I called places to have it fixed and was looking at paying as much as buying a new one from Amazon so I bought the new one. Oasis coolers are expensive but this has electronic controls so it is easy to adjust the temperature from the front. It also has a power save feature that allows the unit to be turned off between whatever times you want. Ours is set for being off 11PM to 6AM. It came quickly and we enjoy it.
defects and dents
when i got this cooler after waiting a month do yourself there was a dent in the side of the cooler and a dent in the stainless steel.not to mention a manufacturer defect in the bottom of the unit . the face where the water comes out and the clock readout was not put together properly. i contacted oasis and they sent me a parts diagram so that i could try to fix the defects. why should i have to fix anything when i bought this unit brand new. i sent them pictures of all the problems and they seemed not to want to take care of these problems. also the box that it was shipped in only had Styrofoam in the top and the bottom leaving the sides totally unprotected. i will never ever, ever, ever buy anything from oasis ever again. their customer service is a total joke.do yourself a big favor and buy something way less expensive that does the same thing that this cooler does.
Works well, compressor is louder than old GE Profile cooler
I had an old GE Profile cooler that started to work intermittently. I looked at a variety of models, and decided on the Oasis BSE1SHS.
It shipped well and was easy to set up. It cools like it should, and heats like it should. It doesn't have a middle "room temp" water dispenser, but I can live without that.
I did notice that the compressor spins up a fair bit, and is louder than the old GE. After a few days it wasn't noticeable anymore, but at first I thought something was wrong, or considered returning the unit.
