Mexican Sol Y Luna All Wood 8.5" Manual Tortilla Maker Press Wooden Handle and Body Simple Design Built to Last MADE IN MEXICO. for flower tortillas , corn tortillas , sugar pancakes (gorditas) and savory christmas crispiest (bunuelos).

Love it
Went to the famous Chef Tom Douglas Summer Camp and we learned to make hand made Tortilla's with a wooden press - so I was on the hunt to find the same or similar model and this is it! Perfect Tortilla's every press. Don't waste your time on the cast or metal ones they fall apart.

I like my tortilla press alot!
I like the look of the wood out on my counter. I like the fact that I can control the size of the tortilla, and it seems sturdy.

It works
Well we wanted to make homemade tortillas and ordered this press. I was afraid I would break the thing with a lot of pressure, but didn't. Masa was probably a little thick. Trial and error

10 Cup / 1.8 Liter Black Milano Cordless Electric Kettle by ZUCCOR (BOIL-DRY PROTECTED / U.K. MADE HEAT CONTROL)

ADVANCE TECHNOLOGY
This is an amazing Kettle. It boils water is less than 3 minutes! There is an attractive light that turns off when the water boils. You don't see any heating elements inside, so cleaning is a breeze. Light weight, functional, and quality kettle. I would recommend to every one.

Good and nice
I like the design of the kettle, it not heavy and easy to clean. I would recommended to my friends.

This worked well for 3 weeks.
Now it does not work at all. It is not an expensive enough item to make it worth the time and effort to return it, so I'll find another brand. I bought this on Amazon because it had 5 stars. I should have looked closer and realized there was only one review.

8 Cup Cordless Kettle

Simply Amazing
I bought this kettle because I wanted one that was all stainless steel on the inside. With some of the cheaper electric kettles, God only knows what chemicals are leaching out of the plastic and into the water you're about to drink. Many of the reviews of the plastic hot pots even mention the plastic smell of the water after you heat it. This is why I spent the extra thirty dollars to get one that was all stainless steel.

Regarding the construction, the kettle is double-walled stainless steel with an air gap or other insulation in between. This keeps the outside from getting hot during and after heating the water. Another nice feature is that there isn't an exposed heating element inside the kettle, so you don't have to worry about minerals building up on it. The cover is well designed. You press a button on the cover itself and it installs onto two pivot points at the top of the kettle. There is a button on the top of the handle that you can press to either lock...

THE BEST - NO PLASTIC WATER TASTE - ALL STAINLESS STEEL INSIDE
I love this kettle. You pour the water through a large opening made possible by an easily removable lid, into a completely seamless stainless steel kettle. The spout is wide and efficient. When you are holding the pot your hand doesn't touch the hot kettle because there is a plastic strip preventing burning. The only thing that people might prefer is a more visible line to determine "Max" level. I use my 4 qt measuring cup to pour the water. The water is boiled in about 3 minutes. The only thing I would like to see added to a kettle, which I haven't seen anywhere, is the ability to set it to go only to 180

Frigidaire Professional 12-Cup Drip Coffee Maker

This one looks like it will hold up
We'd switched to a Breville BKC700XL Gourmet Single-Serve Coffeemaker with Iced-Beverage Function (which I was fortunate to review for Amazon Vine) because it seems like every drip coffee maker we buy quits on us within a few months. But we just can't afford the K-cups, and using our own coffee with the My K-cup setup has been really messy and time-consuming. (Don't get me wrong: I love coffee made with the Breville, but sometimes you just want decent coffee fast and lots of it. There's a little more bitterness with a drip maker than with K-cups, but that just makes the coffee seem stronger.)

Out of the box, it's clear that the Frigidaire Professional 12-Cup Drip Coffee Maker is of a higher class than your typical plastic drip coffee makers. Its appearance is solid, sleek, and industrial-looking. This is the kind of coffee maker I'd...

Water Filters Can Be Found Elsewhere
Great looking coffee maker, and the brews taste good, too. For those of you wondering about replacement water filters, which appear to be unobtainable, the Cuisinart charcoal filters Cuisinart DCC-RWF *Triple Pack* Charcoal Water Filters; 1 Year Supply (6 total) are the same shape and size as the one that comes with the Frigidaire coffee maker. I just bought the coffee maker so I haven't used the replacement filters yet, but I ordered the Cuisinarts and compared them in-person, and they appear to be identical.

Worthy Contender
Have had numerous brands of coffee pots (Bunn, Cusinart, Mr. Coffee, Hamilton Beach) and this is one of the better ones. Attractive, nice features, real stainless steel exterior and a large clock. Also seems to be well constructed.

Just read one review where the reviewer listed 9 things she liked about this coffee pot and only one thing she didn't like...the fact that her carafe had a crack and as a result it leaked. Sorry to disagree with that reviewer's rating, but a cracked carafe is not a negative of this coffee maker, as a the coffee maker was not manufactured with a cracked carafe. This is a very nice coffee pot, reasonably priced and since I have been careful to not crack my carafe, I have no leaks or dripping when pouring a cup of coffee. This coffee maker does have an auto pause function.

This is a good coffee pot, at least thus far, and have no negatives to report. Would buy again.

Cuisinart CTK-SSTR Valor Tea Kettle, Stainless Steel

Attractive and functional
After many years of using a teapot that only had a spout opening for filling with water, I was thrilled to get the Cuisinart Valor Tea Kettle. It's nice to be able to see and clean the inside of the teapot when needed. The teapot has a nice brushed stainless steel finish. It's easy to fill with water and has a maximum fill line indicator on the outside of the teapot. The spout lever can be held open with your finger or you can press the lever all the way and the spout cover will remain open until you press the lever again. I was a little concerned about the manufacturer's instructions not to use the teapot on HIGH heat, but I have been using it on MEDIUM to MEDIUM-HIGH and it heats water to boiling within a few minutes on an electric stove. Yes, the teapot does whistle when the water is boiling, but it's a quiet whistle . . . not at all loud or obnoxious. I have no trouble hearing it from the next room, but probably wouldn't hear it if I were upstairs. The teapot pours without any...

Broken Within a Month
My previous tea kettle lasted more than ten years. This ones' handle broke within the first month - a total waste of money.

Rusted IMMEDIATELY
I bought this kettle because my old enameled kettle had started to rust inside and this one is supposedly stainless steel. We've had it less than two weeks, used it a few times and it has already started to rust along the bottom seam. Ridiculous. And, of course, I've thrown away the box (who would have thought a Cuisinart kettle would have to be returned?) so I can't even return it.

Brisker Elite

Why doesn't anyone talk about the Brisker? It's great.
We've been a brisker family for 25 years. It keeps crackers and chips crisp for weeks after the packages are opened. Everyone thinks we're crazy but we give each other Briskers on significant birthdays and anniversarys. What once may have been a cutting edge technological advance now seems a bit old-school but we love it and can't believe nobody ever talks about how cool these things are.

Brisker plus--new use
As a native of the Pacific Northwest, I don't live in a "humid" climate; but I certainly live in a damp one. After more than 15 years of using my Brisker for its original purpose, I realized it was the perfect instrument for preparing starter for our beloved salt rising bread. This is a very frail recipe--noted for its frequent failures in mid-creation. I have not lost a single batch, since I began proofing the starter in the Brisker. Sourdough lovers (and anyone who needs to ferment a starter), take note!
Everybody, look! I continue to find wonderful new uses for my Brisker. I live alone now but do like to vary my morning breakfast cereals. That means more packages of cereal and granolas than can be reasonably kept fresh on the cupboard shelf. Since writing the starter-proofing entry, I've begun keeping several of the cereals in the Brisker. They remain fresh as the day they were born. Try it!

The best Wedding, Christmas, Birthday Gift!
I have given a brisker to all of my relatives and friends that are cooks. There is nothing better for keeping crackers crisp and salt flowing, especially during the more humid months. I live in the mountains of North Georgia and only use my air conditioner a few weeks out of the year. However, I never have to worry about stale crackers, chips, or soggy salt. Purchase this item and you will not be sorry!

Capresso Coffee a la Carte Cup-to-Carafe Coffee and Tea Maker

A great coffee maker, better than my expectations!
I own or have owned MANY different coffee makers, always trying to find just the right one for my needs. I've tried just about every single cup maker on the market, couple different espresso makers, a couple different drip machines. I finally decided that what I primarily wanted was a single cup coffee maker but I also wanted the ability to make a full pot just every now and then. My wife drinks decaf, I drink regular and usually in the morning we'll both have just a cup. But we also have friends over pretty often so the ability to make a full pot was a necessity. My wife bought me a Breville YouBrew and initially I thought it was going to suit us great...with it's built in grinder and single cup or carafe modes. Unfortunately we went through 4 machines in 5 months...they just kept quitting for one reason or another. After the 4th one died I knew I had to give up on Breville and I started my search for the perfect coffee maker again.

Which led me to this...

Interesting concept; somewhat poor execution. Limited appeal.
Bottom line: While the overall concept of the machine is interesting, the execution is not all that impressive, especially for tea. It will fit the need of a few people, but for most there are better choices.

Full review:
I love coffee regardless of how it is brewed. So, I was really excited to be able to play with this new Capresso while I was staying at my sister's house (who got it for Christmas).

The overall concept of the machine is great - it allows you to brew one cup or a full carafe of coffee as well as tea. No need for pricy k-cups or pods - just plain old ground coffee.

It has a unique head system with two inserts: one for coffee; one for tea. Both are similar in styling in that they are, in essence, a screened cup that holds the grounds (or leaves) while hot water is dispensed from the pump. The coffee cup allows the shower screen (the part where the water comes out) to move on a spring and remain in contact with the grounds. That...

Excellent dual purpose system
Since I have only had this for a couple of days this review will serve two purposes. I will give my first impressions and address a couple of criticisms in other reviews. Keep in mind my solutions to the criticisms do not mean Capresso shouldn't fix the the issues, just that you can work around them.

The issue about tall cups not fitting is easily addressed by removing the metal grating and setting the cup down in plastic cup tray. I tried it this morning and it works fine. If you happen to have a cup that is wide enough so the handle won't fit down in the tray then you can put something down in the tray to raise the cup high enough so the handle won't interfere. As to having to brew a full carafe in that mode this is not strictly true. you can brew whatever amount you want into the carafe by simply watching it brew and then pressing the carafe button at the point you want to stop the brewing cycle. One other solution I haven't tried but suspect would work just fine is to...

Aroma ARC-1260F 20-Cup (Cooked) Rice Cooker and Food Steamer

Perfect rice every time!
Makes perfect fluffy rice everytime I use it! Great quality at a great price! A little bigger than I xpected (which is great) and its easy to transport and extremely cute as to me the pictures don't give it much justice. To the person who gave it a low rating saying it didn't last long and burned out: YOU SHOULD'VE DRIED THE BOWL BEFORE YOU PUT IT BACK INTO THE COOKER! If you put the bowl in while its wet of course its gonna burn out! That was more of a operator malfunction than a product malfunction. But over all this is a great buy and you're def getting your moneys worth!

jkl
I use the rice cooker/steamer everyday. Easy to clean and versatile. You can cook a whole meal in 30 minutes. Great for college dorms.

Exactly what I wanted!
I purchased this as a gift for my mom who absolutely loves to have rice ready for any meal. Normally, she would make instant rice but I thought that something less hands on would be easier for her and since it can makes such large quantities it seemed perfect.

This is easy to use and clean. The booklet tells you exactly how to measure out the rice and water and even how to adjust for brown and wild rice which can require more or less water. You can cook as little as 2 cups of rice which is great for me or 6 cups for my mom.

The rice stays nice and warm once finished cooking but does not over cook in this time.

There is a drip cup on the side of the cooker that catches all of the steam from cooking which keeps hands from getting burned. It also has a holder for the paddle on the side so everything stays close by while cooking.

The design of this is simple and elegant, working with our kitchen decor.

There is no 'OFF' button so you...

Black and Decker 5000-14 blender jar lid & center cap

Black and Decker Jar Lid
The lid fit perfectly, it was more than I expected. Delivery was quick and on time, I would recommended this to anyone.

Blender saved
This was a perfect fit. Saved me from having to replace my perfectly working blender just because I lost the top. What surprised me is that even though they said it would take a week to come, it showed up in two days!

Bought the wrong size, but appears to be of good quality
My wife asked me to order this lid for her. Turns out it was the wrong size.

I can't give it much of a review, other than to say that is seems to be of good quality and resembled our old one (before the wife decided to use the toaster oven with the lid on top).

Shipping was quick and well packaged.

Proctor Silex Cool-Wall Toaster

Sad story for Amazon's Proctor-Silex 2 slice toaster
Its Toast!! Less than one year after buying this appliance it stopped working entirely!
(June 2010 to 2011, RIP little guy)
Whatever happened to those good ole toasters that lasted forever? Are they really being replaced by more expensive units designed to break?
Hamilton Beach and Proctor-Silex used to be reputable brands that seemed proud of the products they made. What happened?

Love Mine
I must have bought other reviewer's toaster, refurbished. I picked it up at Kmart, where I never previously saw refurbished items. It was on sale for $9.01, and after just returning a Waring Pro that was quite costly, and only toasted one side at a time (in other words, it stunk), I thought I'd give this a try. Never had a toaster toast more evenly, and if it goes in a year,I got my $9 bucks worth.

Doesn't toast evenly on heavier breads
I like multi-grain breads. Toasts fine for ordinary white bread but not the heavier breads that I prefer. Donating toaster to next church yard sale

Oasis MIR301D-2 WHI Mirage Bottom Bottle Load Water Cooler with Option to Convert to Bottleless Cooler, White

So Far So Good
I don't often buy items that have no reviews, but I took a chance on this unit. I've only had this unit for a day, but I'll give my initial impressions so you guys at least have something to read before you buy.

UPDATE JUNE 8, 2013: Just wanted to let you know that the cooler is still going strong, and my review stands. As an aside, I bought "Premium Non-spill Bottle Caps - Quantity of 25" from Amazon, and I refill five-gallon bottles with filtered water from my sink (Aqua-Pure #APDW80/90) so no more Poland Spring deliveries.

UPDATE APRIL 26, 2013: After owning this unit for four months, we're still very happy with it.

First, packaging was very good. Might even be considered overkill. The unit was packed much like a refrigerator or large appliance, on a pallet-like bottom made of cardboard and styrofoam with a cardboard sleeve over the top, secured by plastic strapping. This container was packed into another box, with a heavy foam pad on both top and...

water cooler
The water distribution is OK. the hot water feature is nice. The problem I have with the unit is, it makes so much noise when pumping up water the whole unit vibrate so loud. That would be the one disappointing thing for me.

UPDATED 09/2013
Sept 30, 2013
The product was functioning wonderfully for a month or so, then it abruptly died...DIED. No hot, no cold, no pump, no water, a couple of blinking flashes as a warning, and BOOM, I was left with a $350 night light. The blue light at the water spout was the only thing that remained functioning. Called manufacturer again, and currently I am getting the run around for refund (...nice lady on the phone though). It is NOT amazon's fault. The product is clearly problematic, and I am surprised they continue to sell it. As of now, Oasis still hasn't resolved issue, BUT AS FOR REVIEW OF PRODUCT, DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME ON THIS ITEM.

August 2013:
I original bought in April 2013 through Amazon (free shipping). The company deemed my first water cooler defective once I finally reached someone by phone. I received my product replacement FINALLY from the manufacturer (not Amazon-my choice solely), although I believe waiting FOUR MONTHS is crazy! (not...

Breadman 20603 breadmaker paddle.

Did not fit
This paddle did not fit my Breadman TR444. Odd, given that the entire description of the product is: "Breadman 20603 paddle. Fits Breadman breadmaker models TR333 & TR444." We are returning it, which is a headache I did not need.

Breadman TR444 kneading Paddle
In website it is advertised as a paddle for breadman TR 444 breadmachine. I bought the product and it doesn't fit in the pan. Paid $16.00. When I called the Breadman service center they say that they don't manufacture this paddle anymore. Please if anyone knows a good solution for this post it. There is no point in sending it back to the seller paying for the shipping. I am disappointed.

Eggies Deluxe Plastic Egg Cooker Set - Never Peel a Hard-Boiled Egg Again!

Duplicitous Schemes By As Seen On TV
Peeling eggs has always been problematic for me. I have these huge ogre-like fingers that are not nearly dexterous enough to peel away the hardened shell without tearing chunks of nourishing white membrane off. Patience may be a virtue, but for me, hard-boiled eggs test the limits of such a novel saintly platitude. Enter Eggies. The Godsend, the product that will afford me the luxury to just cook and eat -- nothing to it. Stripping away the burdensome peeling process. Right? The commercial celebrates the product's ease of use. You just crack an egg into a no slip container, cook, cool then slip the egg out, and pleasurably munch on some (aborted first trimester chicken fetus) primal protein goodness. Wrong...

Firstly, Eggies makes the fallacious claim that the containers are no stick. Yet the directions recommend you spray the interior with no stick cooking spray or dab it with olive oil. To be safe. Secondly, the actual product is assembled like a plumber's union fitting,...

Sorry I bought them
Let me say first that I did not buy them at Amazon, but the review is the same.

Way way too time consuming. I found the whites had an odd texture and tasted kind of rubbery. The cooking time was much longer than conventional boiling in shell. Mine came out flat on top, not oval, so I couldn't make nice looking deviled eggs from them.

If I could give this a 0 I would, so it gets a reluctant 1

All reviewers are not the same
I read over many reviews for this product and bought a set for myself (@ $5.00 for a set of six).

True to what I had read (among the 5 star reviews) is if you follow the written directions that come with the product, the eggs come out fine, eggs are a bit shaped differently than one may be used to but nevertheless without a shell to peel. (And when eating a deviled egg, my eyes can not taste and my mouth told me they tasted great).

I looked at the picture several times on the box and it does show an egg that is more cone shaped than oval. The cone shape also is a conversation piece during a dinner party. Guess what? Didn't make a difference: I made great deviled eggs.

So this guy who loves deviled eggs will use this system for two reasons: one, it works, and two, because it is fun to use and the amount of time to use is not that much more than peeling egg shells; and definitely a lot less messier than peeling shells.

I am big believer of...

AquaChef Professional Sous Vide Water Oven with Seal 'N Fresh

Surprisingly good value, but no water circulator and 2.5 degree temperature swing.
I've been trying multiple methods to perform sous vide cooking at home WITHOUT buying the PolyScience commercial version, given the prohibitive cost. I have tried several DIY methods with uniformly horrible results.

Overall, I believe that this appliance is the least expensive way to perform water bath cooking, along with the new sideKIC which I will review later.

There are two modifications which you need to do to make this unit better, however.

This model works on the "water temperature convection" principle, which means that the hot water created by the bottom-placed heating element will rise to the top and cause passive temperature convection. However, I believe this would lead to inaccurate temperature readings and hot spots, without the "hydraulic circulation" effect provided by a water pump. Finding an appropriate submersible water pump has been an ordeal in and of itself, as every aquarium pump which I tried has inevitably perished after...

Outstanding
Simply outstanding for the price. Most sous vide rigs start at $400, way out of my budget. I was consideringt a DIY rig, but the accumulated parts fall just a little short of this unit's price -- and I won't have to deal with all those loose janky parts and cords.

Dinging it by one star for the lack of water circulation, but if you require that level of perfectionism then you will probably want one of the more expensive models anyway.

[edit] After a couple months of using this, I have a second issue: The timer tops out at ten hours. Sous vide recipes that call for 24 or even 48 hours are not uncommon, making this a ridiculous oversight. Still recommend, but I hope a future version corrects this.

Simple Solution for Gourmet Perfection
One of the guys at work told me about Sous Vide cooking. I never heard of it before, but being an engineer it made perfect sense. The only thing I was curious about was why I never heard of Sous Vide before. I wanted to try it out, but didn't want to spend a great amount to begin with. I found the AquaChef Sous Vide Water Oven at a great price on Amazon, so I ordered one to experiment. The size also played an important part. The AquaChef is about the size of a 4-slice toaster - perfect for our limited counter space. The unit is stainless steel and easy to keep clean.

My first trial was a double tri-tip roast from Costco. I rinsed them off in cold water, and coated one of them with Kirkland Sweet Mesquite Seasoning, and the other with Kirkland Steak Seasoning. I vacuum-sealed them and cooked them one-at-a-time for 2 hrs at 140 degrees for medium-rare. We froze one and sliced the mesquite one for dinner. What a treat! The meat was cooked perfectly even from surface to surface...

Oster TSSTRT2SST 2-Slice Stainless Steel Toaster

Love My Toaster - Pleased with Oster
This Oster toaster replaced and older model Oster two slice toaster which lasted for a long time. So far after one week have had no problems at all with this toaster. This one does a great job of toasting and the BEST thing is that it has a CANCEL button on its front, allowing you to stop toasting immediately, in case you over adjusted the time. I also like that the controls are where they should be and the cord comes out the back area and is retractable so not to much cord is out on the counter. Simple stylish design but oh, so useful! This mid grade toaster is a winner. I have been very happy with this brand of toaster and last a long time so staying with it. I could have paid less for a toaster but I feel you get what you pay for price wise. I love Oster brand appliances because they last.

Sleek design, First Toast issue
I splurged a bit on this toaster because of its sleek design, brushed stainless steel exterior, completely removable easy glide-out crumb tray (no more lugging the whole toaster to the trash and spilling crumbs on the floor anyway!), and the retractable cord. LOVE those retractable cords!! I also liked the frozen food button and bagel capacity. It looks great on the counter. It has soft feet, too, so it doesn't scratch the counter if you move it around. I thought DH would be thrilled with his new toaster after his ancient one died. His reaction wasn't what I had hoped for; he viewed it as something from outer space. Well, it's hard to move some people into the 21st century. I would just give the little toaster time to grow on him. But then the very first slices he toasted came out burned on one side, untoasted on the other.

I really didn't want to return this toaster to Walmart ($29.66)! I should have read the owner's manual before DH used it. You are supposed to run...

Best toaster I ever owned
You cannot get a better toaster for the price. Works great. Looks good. Love the retractable cord. I recommend highly.

Samurai Shark The ONLY Sharpener That Sharpens Serrated Knives

Amazing knife sharpener
I have an avid knife guru for a husband. Let's just say that he has tried MANY sharpeners and always comes back to this one! He sought this one out again for a gift to his Parents!

good sharpener for cheap knives
This sharpener is very lightweight and compact which is great for camping or a survival situation. Due to the fact that its made of light plastic I'm not sure it is that durable.

If you want to sharpen a cheap knife or folding knife, then this is the perfect product and it does really work on serrated knives. What they don't tell you is that it shaves the blades to a sharp edge and this is not good for expensive kitchen knives. For the high end knives your better off using a stone or sending them in to be sharpened by a professional sharpener.

Outshines other, more expensive sharpeners
Great sharpener for the price. Easier to use and store than a lot of other tools that claim to sharpen knives and scissors.

Bonjour Hot Chocolate Maker Oval Design

FINALLY a pot for hot chocolate fans!
I bought this on a whim in a shop in Cambria, CA as a momento of my visit more than anything. I drink hot chocolate almost every morning since coffee disagrees with me. I make my own recipes using Ghiradelli chocolate most of the time, Sharfenberger on special days. I dislike too much sugar, hence I don't use pre-made mixes. This pot completely exceeded my expectations. I only make a cup for myself so I didn't use the splash guard or the mixer wouldn't have reached the milk! However the mixer gives the milk a wonderful froth and mixes all my ingredients beautifully. Thank you Bonjour for this wonderful product!

Great for hot chocolate lovers!
I make hot chocolate for my boyfriend with real cocoa and this is great to mix and serve it in. Easy to use and looks really nice. Small enough to store easily, but large enough to get 4-6 cups of cocoa if you have guests. Something we will keep and use for a long time to come. Great product!

Can be messy
When following the directions for the hot chocolate recipes, in the book, you have to be careful not to have it overflow when using the mixing device. Other than that a good product.

Black & Decker TROS1500 SpaceMaker Traditional Toaster Oven, White

Too many complainers
I purchased our toaster earlier this week before having read any reviews about it here. I reviewed many, many other toasters/ovens on Amazon, then went to Target with a couple in mind that were in stock. In general, I'm extremely disappointed in the quality of all toasters/toaster ovens out there right now. They felt like cheap aluminum boxes mass produced in China. Our Krups toaster oven has been with us for 10 or 15 years and was wonderful. In any case, while getting disgusted at what Target did have available, around the corner in the aisle with all the Black and Decker SpaceMaker items I found this toaster and with a good sale price.

I get it home, quickly come here and see horror story after horror story. I'm wondering if I should even open the box or just take it back to Target immediately. Well, luckily I ignored the reviews here. Our SpaceMaker can opener has been wonderful and I was going to give this toaster a shot.

Having been forewarned about all the...

It was easy to install....took me 30 min
I'm not sure what the other reviewers were installing, but I had no problems. Tape up the template, drill the holes, add spacers and attach. Pretty straight forward. By the way, I'm a single woman and not in the construction or home improvement business. I have no complaints about the install, so please don't let some of the other reviews sway your decision. The unit looks great and works good. Different controls than my last toaster oven, but its not rocket science so within a few minutes you should have it down. Black & Decker TROS1500B SpaceMaker Traditional Toaster Oven, Black

OK But Not great
As its name implies, this device functions as a toaster and as an oven. It's not very good at either activity. Its name also includes "Spacemaker", and it does this pretty well.

Good points:
It is nicely styled. It saves space by being mountable under a kitchen counter, as well as not being very large. It does make toast and it does serve as an oven.

Bad points as a toaster:
There is a single heating element across the top of the oven interior, which is baffled from the rack by a metallic diffuser strip. A mirror image of this assembly exists on the bottom. In the toaster function, this results in uneven brownness across the piece of bread, even when the bread is carefully centered. The precision with which the timer can be set (a resolution of 5 minutes!) is not adequate to get repeatable results from one piece of bread to another.

Bad points as an oven:
The temperature can be set in 50 degree intervals. I checked the...

Secura Infrared Convection Countertop TurboFry Oven 997MC, Rotisserie Oven Low-Fat Fryer with Carbon Heat

Very pleased with this product!!!
We ordered this a few weeks ago, so far we have tried potatoes fries, pizza, roasted chicken and we roasted some almonds as well. Everything came out excellent. This oven is indeed a multifunction appliance. It first is a convection oven similar to a Rotisserie oven, but with a turntable rack. So you are not limited to roasted chicken and ribs but can put smaller pieces on the turntable. The second function is to replace the turntable with a food tumbler or paddle, it then turns into an automatic stir fryer. We made some fries from fresh potato. Needless to say the fries are much less greasy with only one spoon of oil, but we are thrilled to see this actually works. It means this cooker can take the tedious labor work out of cooking.

With everything we have cooked in this turbofry oven so far well done, we are very pleased with this product.

Roasted chicken is second to none. The first chicken we cooked is perfect, golden crispy skin bottom and up, and juicy...

Amazing Oven
Bought this a few weeks ago, so far everything we cooked in this oven turned out to be AMAZING!! Chicken is always cooked to perfection, the skin is crispy and inside is juicy, I am thinking of taking a picture to show you guys. There is a lot of oil drip to the bottom. You do not have to flip it half way during the cooking, the bottom of the chicken is browned as well. We have tried pizza, freshly cut potato fries, they all turned out delicious. Really in love this oven.

False Advertising!
Since we had the other oven from Secura the 997 and liked it we thought we would try this one--since it was the "latest, greatest" from the company. A big mistake! This one comes with more gadgets and about the only advantage to this over the all digital 997 is that it has a turntable to rotate food. Supposedly it can fry foods as well.

But that is it...everything else is worse about this than the all digital model that is $30 less. First of all it uses more electricity 1550W vs. 1350 for the halogen cooking oven. It also takes longer to cook than the old oven. Some "genius" in the engineering dept. at Secura decided to make 482 degrees the maximum temp for the oven--I think he is now working on making 61MPH speed limits on some highway or clocks that go up to 11:37PM. Nonetheless, the old unit tops out at a very normal 500 degrees. Additionally, this unit never gets up to the 482 degrees promised. When I used my cooking thermometer it topped out at 350 degrees...

Waring 026599 Motor Gear

Beware not a black motor gear, but white, MATERIAL ISSUES
I am very disappointed with the quality of this white (not black as advertised) replacement motor gear.
It broke only after 2 months of use!!!
The original black motor gear that came with the slicer lasted over 2 years.
I believe the material has lots to do with the quality. It was simply miss advertised, however I did not return it upon arrival while I was in an urgent need of a replacement for the Holidays.
The seller Small Appliance responds only to Amazon Contacts, not further. This company is not interested to honor their wrongly advertised shipment.
---I WILL NOT BUY FROM "SMALL APPLIANCE" ANYTHING ANYMORE---

Update: I see the seller changed their picture now. Good for that, it still does not make the product a good buy though.

Warring Food Slicer FS150 motor gear
We bought this Warring Food Slicer FS150 which seems well made of metal etc.. After just a short time the motor gear stripped. This gear is cheap plastic. We have replaced 5 of these but, we can not slice even potatoes without it stripping. Do not waste your money on this slicer until Warring fixes their mistake. I will not buy anything from Warring now.

Junk
The worm drive on my slicer ate up this replacement gear after 5 minutes of use. I was only able to slice 2 pounds of meat before the gear stripped. DO NOT waste your money.

Danby DBC2760BLS 5.0 Cu. Ft. Silhouette Beverage Center - Black/Stainless

Beware of Danby products
I purchased the beverage center Aug 2011, beautiful product. Broke this July and it has been a nightmare to get replaced since they were not able to fix it (3 visits from the repair company). Everyone at Danby was soooooo nice, but totally useless. It is now the end of Oct...and no replacement. When I called Danby today 10/30/12 I was told that I didnt send them the physical serial #, which I was NEVER told to do back on 10/2/12. I was told the replacement was being shipped and to call them when I received it to discuss warranty on the new item. Today I was hung up on by Maria Pineda, the Danby Manager of Customer Service because I was upset that this was going on for so long...really?? Thats how they handle an upset customer?! Please google the company and products reviews before purchasing a Danby product.

Works Well
Overall this little cooler does a great job. Read some of the other reviews and wonder if I happen to get the best from the bunch.
Works real well till the grand kids come over and think its great to have unlimited access to soda pop. Trick like any refrigerator keep the doors closed and it maintains the wine at the right temperatures. The beverage side will cool energy drinks, sodas and gatorade cold enough to enjoy right out of the can. Unit was build into a cabinet we made sure to leave space behind the unit to allow for air to circulate. Have had it for a couple of years and it runs like a champ.

Great refrigerator, Short, Expensive Life
Purchased this beverage center 4 years ago. I love this little refrigerator, you can store beverages in one side and your wine in the other and there are dual controls for each side with a beautiful blue light when you open the refrigerator. The only problems is that it lasted a mere 4 years before dying. Repairman says it was made in China and the wires are opposite of what is normal in the US making it tricky to diagnose and repair. Turns out is needs a new master board which runs somewhere in the $500+ range because it is not a stocked item anywhere so it has to be special ordered. Cheaper just to buy a new one, unfortunately.

Applica FW 12c Food Processor (FP3000FBS)

Nut Butter
I have read reviews (on several sites) that mentioned how this product broke after one use, how it was extremely ineffective in chopping nuts, how the dough blade leaves more to be desired, and how food getting under the blade pushed it up rendering it useless. I ALMOST didn't buy the product, but I am a victim of "I want it now!!!!" and didn't want to get either of the other two choices at the store I was in (an 8 cup 450 watt or a 14 cup 550 watt with worse reviews). So, I bought it (yesterday). I noticed the top was broken before I got it out of the package (exchanged it today). Ladies and gentlemen, that is the only negative thing I have to say about this product. As my title would suggest, I bought it for the initial purpose of making nut butters. It chopped my raw almonds down to flour in mere seconds. It could almost be confused for a magic trick. I let it continue (without adding anything) until it smoothed into almond butter as creamy as peanut butter. As you can imagine, the...

Versatile
This machine works great! the price is Terrific, the Extras are great. The Size is great for big stuff. Unlike many of the smaller ones this one has a very large mouth you can put whole onions in and slice, the 2 work bowls are nice to work with. The only reason i Give 4 of 5 is because this thing is very loud. The only thing i found that was close to what this offers for the price was a Hamilton Beach product at a local department store. The Hamilton beach felt cheap, looked cheap and was cheap. The work bowl on that unit didn't even lock in place, just flopped around, where as this Faberware locks in and has a good feel to it. comes with all the blades you need, and costs the same. I was weary buying this unit because of the 2 negative reviews, but i took a chance here and I am glad I did, I am not sure what the other 2 reviewers had trouble with on this machine. I know one was using it to grind soap... as this is a food processor i discounted the users review as not using this for...

Died after one use
I purchased this in April, 2012 and used it once with no problem. The next time I went to use it (2 months later) I plugged it in and none of the lights came on to indicate it had power. I contacted the customer service # provided on the website and was told to send a description of the problem, reference the transaction #, along with my contact information, and to cut the plug off of my defective unit and mail it to the address they provided. Having done that, I am now awaiting a Black and Decker FP2500, since I was told they have no Farberware repalcements in stock.

Food Dehydrator, All Stainless Steel Commercial Grade 1200w for Beef Jerky, Sausage, Fruits, Vegetables, Herbs with 10 S/s Racks

Many issues
To begin, there was absolutely no packing materials to protect this item. Just the shipping box, unit and parts. Upon removal, I found that the food drying area housing was dented on one side. Also, some of the wires forming the screen to enclose the fan/heating elements were not seated in their frame properly so my finger was stabbed. The shipping box itself did not seem damaged, so maybe the unit was already damaged.

I could not find stamps/markings on any of the components indicating they were stainless steel although by the weight the unit itself probably is. The racks look like every other regular rack I've ever seen that wasn't supposed to be stainless steel and I don't know how to tell for sure.

The latches to attach the heating component to the drying area do not hold very tightly but since it remains stationary during drying I don't see that it would be a problem.

I tested all of the buttons and they worked fine.

I decided to...

Don't waste your time or your money!
I am really disappointed with Amazon for allowing this product to be on their site. I have always been satisfied with Amazon products, but this dehydrator is such an total waste of time and such a piece of crap, that I can't imagine why they would want to associate their name with this product. I read the other reviews about shoddy packing and defective product and I was hoping that this was an anomaly, but unfortunately this is not the case. Packaging was nonexistent and even the taping on the outside of the box was minimal at best. The right hand latch was broken off, the panel was bent and warped, and worst of all the unit wouldn't turn on. It would power up, but the fan didn't work and the heater wouldn't come on. The price was right for a broken down piece of junk...let me repeat this....JUNK. I have never wrote a bad review, but if you think you might be one of the lucky ones that might get a good unit, think again, this company and their product is a joke. They...

Toastess TFC-2T 450-Watt Personal-Size Coffeemaker with Thermal Travel Mug

Best idea yet for the solo coffee drinker
Do you live alone? Are you the only coffee drinker in the house? Do large portions of your coffee go down the drain? Then this is perfect. I gave it a 4 because I really do not like the mug, but that is another thing, you can use any mug. Measure the water with the alternate mug, pour it in, put the coffee in the little wire basket and flip it on. You have coffee in about 5 minutes. Great of office, dorm rooms, bachelors/ettes and lonely guys like me!

great in my dorm room!
this is a sweet coffee maker for a dorm room. it is small [this is a plus, as coffe makers arent allowed in my dorm!], and has a cup WITH A LID [great to take to class]. one full cup is ready in 2-3 mins!! it is sort of noisy, thats my only complaint. and the black color makes it harder to clean when dirty. else, is great! imagine all the money saved instead of buying coffee twice a day from starbucks!!

Only one flaw, but definitely a good choice anyway
There are so many little engineering considerations put into this little coffee maker: The little handle to remove the filter basket (well done); the spout automatically returns to it's proper placement after filling water reservoir; and the sleek design. Forget the plastic travel mug except for maybe adding the water, and I use my own trusty mug in it's place for sipping coffee. The one flaw that is glaring is that there is no automatic shutoff when the coffee is brewed. That is definitely a safety hazard. It's no good saying, you'll always check to see it's turned off, because you won't. I would happily pay a few dollars more if an automatic shutoff were included. As for the Black and Decker counterpart - that's no good at all. In fact, many stores refuse to carry the thing because of all the returns. So, this is the best bet for the time being and we'll hope Toastess fixes the shut off problem. For those of you who hate old coffee and really just want a nice freshly...

Cuisinart DLC-2009CHB Prep 9 9-Cup Food Processor Bundle

Love my Cuisinart!
I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the product. The plastic the bowl is made of is very thick as is the metal of the slicing/shredding blades. I can see this lasting me decades. It's not so heavy that I can't put it away easily. It's fast too. It prepared soup ingredients in a jiff and salsa was so much quicker than in my retired mini-processor which has now become my nut chopper! The instructional video was ok, I would have preferred more detailed printed instructions, but the video had some interesting recipes on it. The storage container that this bundle comes with doesn't have space for the blades, but it's not a hassle to take them out and this container is more compact than the alternative one. Absolutely love this processor.

Very happy with this purchase
So far ,so good.It does the job perfectly.I am glad i bought this food processor.Easy to clean and very sturdy.

This is a very well made machine very suitable in size for the average family. It makes so much food preparation quick and easy.

Nesco WM-1300 Everyday Waffle Maker

This is a Great Little Waffle Maker
I needed to replace my old waffle maker as it was a decade old. I'm glad I chose this one. All the waffles I've made with this have turned out crispy and delicious. The heart pattern that you get with this make is unique and cute. They waffles are smaller, thinner and crispier than those made by the waffle maker I got in college, but that's okay because you won't hear a complaint about these. You can control how dark your waffles get with the dial on the very top. The waffle maker only takes three minutes to warm up and three minutes to cook the waffle which is great as you can use this even when in a rush.

The outside is stainless steel and the inside is nonstick aluminum. Clean up is a snap and just as quick as making the waffles. I was extremely impressed with this machine and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg either. The only downside is that he cord seems way too short and it makes plugging in the maker a bit of a chore depending on where the outlets are in your...

Delicious, delicious waffles
I got this yesterday and used it this morning. I love that you can control the crispness of the waffles (it isn't an automatic shut off, but there is a light to dark setting and the light changes from red to green when your waffle is done). The iron heats up quickly and clean up wasn't bad. Nothing stuck, the waffles lifted right out. The size of the appliance is good, not too big so it stores easily. I was slightly bummed that it doesn't make the big fluffy Belgian waffles, but then I discovered this recipe and didn't care any more! Since it did not come with a recipe book, I'm sharing this one:

2 cups all-purpose flour (about 9 ounces)
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/4 cups 2% reduced-fat milk
3 tablespoons maple syrup
2 tablespoons butter, melted
4 bacon slices, cooked and crumbled
3 large eggs, lightly beaten
Cooking spray
1/3 cup maple syrup
Preparation

1. Lightly spoon flour into dry...

Surprisingly good!
I was surprised how good this machine is. It made perfect waffles with the cute heart shape in quick quick time so I got to sit with everyone and enjoy them while hot too. One thing to be aware of this efficient machine is not a thick waffle .. its thinner but the timing is right on it. Made a great fresh berry sauce we tossed on top of the waffles and munched down Sunday morning style without a big mess or spillover.

Nostalgia Electrics Coca Cola Series RSM702COKE Single Snow Cone Maker

Blockparty Approved
We bought this for our kids but also for a street blockparty we were hosting. Our street has tons of kids and thought it would be a fun idea. Because of the low cost I was worried it might not last through the 4 hr party. Not only did it last but it was the hit of the party. The device bascially ran non-stop for 4 hrs and only paused for each child to add more ice. We love it.

One last note and I have to thank Amazon. The cone holder device is actually hinged under the device. We actually returned our first device thinking they didn't include in our box. When we got the second, we thought they forgot again. But then I flipped the device and noticed the cone holder under.

It Works
After returning our second consecutive snow cone maker to Amazon, we were ready to give up the search. Both models were over ninety dollars and neither worked. We took the chance and opted to pick up this low end Nostalgia Electric Coca Cola model. For the price we knew we were not getting a commercial product. We just wanted a working snow cone machine. After three months use these are my thoughts on this product.

Measuring 7" x 7" x 12" this little guy doesn't really take up that much counter space. Its surprisingly tough. Unlike lighter models there is no worry about tipping over. The suction feet really do a bang up job. One of the biggest selling points for me is that I used ice cubes straight from our fridge's ice maker. Other machines that we had purchased in the past required ice molds. This maker made perfect snow each and every time. To keep the ice from sticking together I rinsed the cubes prior to inserting them into the shaving well.

Even though the...

Breville USA BEM600XL Handy Stand Mixer

Nice to be able to stir
I just got this. Used it twice so far, with very different batters - one thin, one cookie thick. Second use was much more comfortable than the first. I'm learning.

I'm a big Breville fan, so it pains me to drop this a star, but this little mixer just can't hold a candle to a Kitchenaid, which is a brand I actually don't like. And, to be honest, seeing this from a review-reader's point of view, it's probably not deserving of more than 3 stars. I needed the small size and weight, so it's uniquely useful to me.

Pros

--LOVE being able to rummage around in the batter and stir stuff, unlike with the Kitchenaids (that DON'T get everything mixed)
--Steel bowl is nice shape for working
--Love Breville's plugs with the hole for unplugging.
--Small enough to work in my little RV. Light enough to move about from storage. The only practical size stand mixer I found.
--Supplied spatula fits well with bowl and is sturdy...

Excellent value, works great!
We had been shopping stand mixers for quite some time. But couldn't justify the $300+++ price for most of them. They might be great, but that's a lot of money for something that may not used much except during the holidays. We recently saw this mixer and thought it may fill the bill for us. We have bought a number Breville small electrics and all have been very good quality. So, we ordered one from Amazon. We have used it a few times now and find it easy to use and clean up. It has done everything we have tried very well. The controls are simple to use and understand. The beaters and bowl are easy to clean as well. Yes, you don't have all the attachments available like the expensive models, but look at your usage. Do you need all that?
This is a good buy.

Very pleased with the mixer
I have used this several times and I love that the bowl has its own motor. Mixes great. There is plenty of room in the bowl, but it is smaller than I thought it might be. I would buy this again, especially for the price.

Sanyo EC-510 10-Cup Rice Cooker and Vegetable Steamer

Sanyo rice cooker
This 10 cup rice cooker from Sanyo is a reliable efficient inexpensive model that gets the job done. This is the second one I have had and have given one to my son to make rice. As long as you follow the instructions by using the measuring cup that comes with and filling to appropriate water level marked on the inside of the cooking pot, the Japanese short-medium grain rice turns out perfect everytime. Of course you must rinse the rice with water about three times until the rinse water is not milky.

Simple & versatile
I've had more expense rice cookers, but this is my favorite. You push the button, it somehow cooks until the grain absorbs the water and then switches to a warmer mode. I use this to cook everything from barley to black-eyed peas to split pea soup. I set it, press the button and go about my business --- for the more hardy legumes, I do need to occasionally walk by, give a stir and add water, but it's still much faster and easier than cooking them on the stove. I was very annoyed when I tried fancier rice cookers with all their modes and programs. They were just too "smart" and either burned my delicate grains or switched off before my legumes were done. I didn't like the way they cook brown rice as well either: It took longer and wasn't as good. Some rice cookers have a hinged lid that is very hard to clean. This is a better design.

A couple hints: 1. Don't leave anything except white rice on the warmer mode for very long. White rice will stay lovely for hours...

Sanyo EC-510 10-Cup Rice cooker.
This is a simple one button cooker. You can steam. Make soup. Have excellent white rice. It is a wonderfully purchased item. My family used Sanyo in Vietnam. I am very happy to have purchase this item.

Hb Red Bagel Toaster

Looks nice, works terrible
From the day I got it, this toaster would not automatically pop up the toast when it was ready. I have to watch carefully and push the button when I think something is ready. Invariably the toast burned or it was not brown enough, and when it does brown it's uneven. Big pain. Threw the whole thing away. Don't waste your money.

Looking Good, very sharp looking toaster!
I bought my toaster about a year ago and have used it many time it works really well it is cool looking and it's just plain sharp looking. i have had no problems with it at all, NONE!! the red color goes with my red coffee maker real nice. It's very easy to clean the slide out clean out that collects the crums fom the toast, and then while you have the tray out just give it a little tap on the side and all the other crums come falling out from with in. all in all this is a great toaster and settings are true to the settings numbers, I just couldn't be happer!!!!

MaxiMatic ETO-730B Elite Gourmet 20-Liter 1500-Watt Convection Toaster Oven, Black

Nice toaster oven
I wasn't familiar with the Maxi-Matic brand, but decided to try this toaster oven because I liked the color and design, the convection option, and the reasonable cost. We have been using it for a about a month, and have found it to be a very practical and well designed oven. It heats evenly, the interior is spacious for a toaster oven, and the front pull-out crumb tray is a really helpful accessory.

Excellent Product
Love this oven, a little larger than expected as site did not give dimensions prior to ordering ( 10" tall, 12" deep, 19 1/2" long). Often used this often instead of regular oven. Perfect for baking casseroles for 2-4. Wonderful for heating standard size frozen pizza. Would recommend this if you have room on kitchen counter.

MJW

nice toaster oven
This oven gets a little hotter towards the back. Heats up fast. I bought it to replace a microwave, but it isn't that great for reheating or I haven't figured it out yet. I over cooked the bottoms of the first batch of biscuits I tried. I messed up and used the bottom rack. I haven't used the bottom rack since, just the top rack. I imagine the bottom rack will be great for pizza. The outside gets hot so plan for that. Also you have to pick the degree of heat you want for toast or it won't turn on. I think it's a great oven.

Wolfgang Puck Panini Duet and Multipurpose Grill, Silver

decent small panini maker
This is a decent, relatively small panini maker. There is no temperature control so you need to keep an eye on your stuff. It browns the bread quite quickly, but I noticed that it won't burn it that easily. You can fit 2 standard size sliced bread sandwiches in it. Not much else. It is lightweight and easy to store. The grilling surfaces do NOT come off, so cleaning can be a challenge, but the non-stick surfaces clean easily. My main issue with it is that it is so light and almost top-heavy that if you press on the handle to put some pressure on the bread it tends to want to tip over forward (UPDATE: I think I saw an newer version which was slightly different with feet that come out further in the front to prevent this exact problem - so look for the newer version)
Comes with an oil, drip tray and a brush to clean the surfaces.

George Foreman GRV120B 120-Inch Non-Stick Indoor Grill with Extended Handle, Black

Very Impressive
I did considerable research before I purchased this grill and I'm very pleased with the results. The grilling surface, while not huge, is quite large enough for a couple of good-sized steaks or several hamburgers or chicken pieces. It heats up quickly and cooks evenly and efficiently and I've found clean-up to be a breeze. At first I dismissed the little plastic spatulas as silly and useless but I found that they're the perfect size and shape for gently scraping the plates to loosen any food residue before swiping them with a damp paper towel or sponge.

This is one product that works as advertised and I highly recommend it.

Gets nice and hot
I had originally bought the Foreman grill with removable plates (GRP4P) but it didn't seem to get very hot. I suspect it is underpowered in terms of wattage and the removable plates cause some loss in temperature. By contrast this grill gets good and hot, browning foods very nicely. The large size is great for families.

this is a great product, lots of cooking room and very easy to use and clean. love it thanks for recommending it to me, laura

BDS - Grip-Easy Tea Infuser in Little Swan Tea Spoon Style

Cute and Functional!
This little strainer works very well and is adorable! It's true that some tea does escape from the holes, but this will happen with pretty much any strainer that you use and those who complain probably just aren't used to loose leaf tea. I also find it easy to clean. A fun and affordable buy!

Cheap Plastic for $10
I bought this as a Christmas present for a tea loving friend, and I thought it would be a nice gift for him. I expected some decent plastic that would look pleasing while being sturdy.
Not the case
Its a non shiny, kind of dull look and a strong neck, but the part that contains the tea just looks and feels flimsy as it bends with some pressure. the biggest holes are about 2 mm in diameter it stands at about 13 cm or 7 1/4 inches tall
For $10, buy something else. Not worth the price. I would pay around a $1 for this quality of a tea infuser.
2 stars is being generous because it probably does its job, but I will never know because I'm returning it if I can

Nu-wave Pro Digital Black Oven

What they dont tell you
I love cooking a whole chicken in the New Wave Oven. Very tasty, juicy and crispy on the outside. You've watched the TV infomercial...it looks so easy.
Here's what they fail to tell you. If you want foods to cook completely, you have to flip them over half way thru the cooking cycle. THAT INCLUDES PIZZA. Whaaa? Pizza will cook very fast in the New Wave but if you dont flip it, your dough can be undercooked or not cooked at all. The turkey in the ad is way too large for the NW oven. However what it does best is cook fast without heating up your house. Cleaning is a bit messy but not a big problem. Someone else complained the "glass dome" was too heavy....what glass dome? The New Wave Oven is made of modern/safe plastics. I like this product and recommend it to anyone who wants great meals with less fat.

I bought this item the end of January and asked how to return it.

A good quality unit
I had my Nuwave oven for 2 years now and here are the pros and cons of the unit:

Pros:
- Can be used every day.
- Very reliable.
- Cooks food extremely well.
- Convenient to be used multiple times a day.
- Does not use halogen bulbs which can burn out in 3 months @ $15 a pop.
- Cooks food as advertised.
- Very quiet when on.
- As indicated, does not heat up the kitchen.

Cons:
- The plastic dome begins to discolor and crack after 2 years of daily use.
- I was charged almost $30 just to replace the dome.

Wine Enthusiast Silent 48 Bottle Touchscreen Double Door Dual Zone Wine Refriger

Mirrored Doors! Pictures are wrong.
BEWARE! The pictures show a light tint on the doors that allows you to clearly see all 48 bottles. The unit that I received has highly reflective mirrored finish on the doors.

This isn't at all what I expected to receive and I called Wine Enthusiast about the problem. I was told that the doors are actually mirrored and that I hadn't received anything incorrect, and that they are all this way. I was told that the doors on the stainless steel model are lightly tinted. I asked if I could buy doors from the stainless steel unit and was told that they aren't interchangeable.

Part of the beauty of a wine refrigerator is being able to see the bottles. I would have never bought this unit if the picture was accurate.

Easyway 8" Impulse Heat Sealer with Spare Kits.

Great value!
I opted to buy this over the more expensive version of the same size. I figured i'd roll the dice, and i'm glad i did!! This item works very well, has a dial for changing the heat intensity and also comes with two extra teflon and wire strips in case the original has an issue.... Good thing, because it did.

I'd like to explain to you how to avoid the issue I had, because it was 100% avoidable.

While the base of this product is made from high-density plastic, the metal strip that heats up and actually does the sealing comes from the factory with about a 1/2 inch area of the base's plastic exposed to the heating strip. I did not notice this, and over the course of about the first 50 seal jobs, the strip eventually melted it's way into the plastic and stopped working. (good thing there's 2 extras! follow these instructions and you won't need the extras!)

Easy solution:

When this product arrives, take apart the teflon and metal heating strip via...

Avoid! Poor Quality And Problems Right Out Of The Box
I needed another impulse sealer for our business so I bought this machine over the other models on sale on Amazon to save a few dollars. However right out of the box the sealer failed to seal properly along a specific area of the heating wire. I took the seller's suggestion to replace the wires with the replacements and the problem persisted with ALL the wires.

The machine creates a perfect seal except at this one spot so it is not a problem with the heat setting. However since the trouble spot is located right in the middle of the wire it makes this sealer useless for creating an airtight seal for anything wider than 3"!

Another problem is that the body of the machine is made out of cheap flimsy plastic. As another reviewer stated, the heating wire touches the plastic so you'll need to doctor the machine with some foil. Otherwise you'll get the lovely stench of burning plastic every time you use the machine.

When I contacted the seller for a...

Seal me baby!
I purchased this item to seal up food and supplies for camping. This is a good home use sealer. It has a plastic housing which would'nt be good for an industrial application, but is fine for occasional home use. Comes with additional parts. Very happy with the purchase, and has worked great for my camping trips.

Wood Is Good WD401 Large Hone Strop

Excellent tool for honing
This hone is a good, solid addition to my sharpening tools collection. Here are some key points:

1. It is not a leather hone. It has a rubber or silicone synthetic surface which is perfectly flat. This should actually help with the honing process as it is actually flatter than leather since there is very little texture. The absence of texture is a little odd to me. Doesn't affect performance with honing compound sticks. Doesn't work so well with honing powder though, at least in my usage so far.
2. It is larger than I thought it would be. About 14" long including the handle and 3" wide.
3. One side is rounded, which helps when honing curved blades or the concave side of carving chisels.
4. The end has a 45 degree bevel which could be useful for honing serrations, potentially. (That seems like it would be incredibly tedious)

non leather strop
I am a vegetarian. This strop is resilient and allows sufficient downward pressure on chisels and carving gouges to create good edges. The chromium oxide medium leaves a crayon-like surface slick which occasionally has to be scraped off. I can deal with this.

Buy it.
I've used this a few times now and I'm impressed. I've used wax bound green compound. It does build up a residue but it is useable. I do plan on switching to powdered compound. This synthetic material is top notch.

High quality
Excellent product... I've had the competing product for years... Decided to make a change and it was well worth it

Love this!
I was a little nervous buying this because of the reviews of others that had so many problems with it but it has been working 100% for me with no problems. I liked this grouping with the coffee holder and cups (although one was broken when I received it). I trusted Cuisinart and I am still happy with this purchase.

Great coffee maker

Oster TSSTTVF815 6-Slice Toaster Oven

Very Nice
The Oster TSSTTVF815 6-slice convection toaster oven is a nice little toaster oven with a classy but streamlined look. It heats up very quickly and the cookies I tested were baked evenly. The door had an annoying squeak that eventually needed some WD40 but that's not a huge problem on a new appliance. The inclusion of convection allows this little gem to stand up to some of its more expensive competitors. The fan itself is quiet enough and cuts the cooking time down significantly. In my test the Oster 6 Slice went from cold to 450 degrees in just over 5 minutes. I really like this little oven.

If you have the room this is a terrific additional small oven.
or ideal for a dorm room or studio apartment.

when it comes to toaster ovens I need simple. I want simple. I must have simple.

Toast should be one touch button.

The Top dial is temperature; heats up to 450 degrees F. with settings in 50-degree increments starting at 200 degrees.

Middle dial is the function dial turn it to Bake, Turbo, Broil, or Toast.

Turbo uses convection, heated air circulates evenly throughout the oven's interior, the affect is to make meat jucier, crisps crispier, and pastries flakier, breads lighter.

The bottom dial is the timer with setting up to 30 minutes, TOAST or non-stop.

This is a good size oven for the price.

19.3 wide x 12 tall x 14.8 inches deep (compared to my previous non-convection toaster 15.8 x 8.8 x 8.2)

Excellent value for a good oven
We've been enjoying our Oster 6-Slice oven for several weeks now. All of the functions, from baking to toasting, work as advertised. The toasting function in particular is good, giving a more even brownness than our previous toaster oven. The convection bake is also a great feature, speeding up cooking time and preventing the need for heating up the whole built-in oven.

The one downside I have found is size. The unit itself is on the big side for a toaster oven, and while the inside is indeed larger than our last one (a Black and Decker), it is not quite large enough to hold six whole slices of bread, despite the name. Those slices would have to be pretty small. Or your packing skills better than mine. Four stars for quality and function.

Revel CCM104 220-volt Wet and Dry Coffee Spice Grinder, White

BIG NO NO
Its very hard to open or i should say after you grind anything you cannot open it. I would not recommended it to anyone...

Beware of the plug
I had to purchase an adapter for the EUROPEAN plug on this unit, which was not stated in the description. The actual electric specs on the equipment were different from the box too, and both were different from the website listing. So know what you're getting into! Otherwise, it does spices and some nuts just fine, but on whole almonds it jams when the blades stick into them.

Nice Grinder
I live in Germany (my husband is stationed at one of the air force bases over here) and we live off base so all of our stuff has to be 220v. I did not want to buy really expensive things for my kitchen considering the fact that we are only going to be here for 4 years. This grinder was perfect. It works really well and it is in my budget. I have only used it for coffee so far, but I am thinking about grinding my own herbs with it as well. I will update as soon as I do.
