Excellent basic electric kettle
We purchased this item for $20 from a different retailer several weeks ago, to replace an electric kettle we'd used for six years.
This kettle is recommended with caveats.
Pros: Easy to pour, never drips, heats quickly, auto shutoff, cordless (corded base) and boils nearly 2 liters of water.
Cons: The fill level gauge takes a few seconds to provide an accurate reading, which means overfilling is frequent (wasting water that has to be poured out), and the opening through which the kettle is filled is a bit small and hard to reach/view because of the pop-up lid.
Note: The kettle shown here appears to be orange red, but it's definitely blue red (shiny, candy-apple red).
Great for Seniors
This product was purchased for my 90 year old mother. Pro's: It is easy to fill...lid lifts up with a push of the button. Can be filled easily with a small pitcher rather than under the faucet. Lid snaps back down by pushing on the cover. Easy for arthritic hands. Water heats fairly quickly and you can hear it boiling and when it shuts off. Very pretty bright red.
Cons:It is hard to see the water line on the side...wish they moved that to the front. Can get heavy if completely filled.
Rate this product as excellent...much better than competitor B&D...that lid was too difficult to remove.
LOVE this teakettle!!
Purchased this on a whim at Costco and it is one of the most used appliances in our house!! Have three boys who make hot chocolate and tea and this makes it quick and easy to make!! Is sturdy and heats the water very quickly!! A must buy and you won't regret it!!
